TRY is a wonderful experience for our students, but what’s it like for parents and families back home? Pretty amazing!

Ongoing Communication

We are always in regular communication with families! We send out newsletters once a week and regularly update social media. Nicole Dror is our Parent Liaison. She is the first address for any questions or concerns during the semester. You can expect a response within 24 hours either answering your question or she will let you know that she is gathering more information and will get back to you. For emergencies, our director, Daniel Laufer is available 24/7.

In addition to our communication with families, students personally communicate with their family and friends. TRY is tech-ready with wifi in the dorms and classrooms. We require that all students have a cell phone for safety and communication. In addition, we provide practical information on our website, where you can download the TRY Handbook and calendar and learn more details about the program.

We have a  talented and dedicated team of staff and madrichim (counselors) whose job it is to take care of students during TRY. We continue to strive to do our best to make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We are always happy to connect prospective families to alumni families, who can tell of their own personal experience.

Many families choose to visit students during the program. Ramah offers a TRY family trip which offers family members of all ages the chance to share their TRYer’s experience using Ramah’s educational approach. Whenever families visit, we ask them to follow these guidelines for visits.

Sending your child on TRY ends up being an incredible experience for the whole family.
