Madrichim — מדריכים

The madrichim are primarily responsible for the personal well being of the chanichim and development and implementation of the informal educational program.  Each madrich/a serves as an ultimate דוגמא אישית (role model) for the students, helping them interpret their Israel experiences.

The madrichim supervise informal activities, as well as plan and coordinate tefillot and Shabbat activities. They live in the dormitories with the group and are available 24/7 for students.

One of the unique things about our staff is that we like to combine different backgrounds as we set a community of role models for our students. Some madrichim are native Israelis who have completed their army service, others are college graduates from North America, and all have extensive camp and/or hadracha experience. Together on campus, they strive to build a community with our students, enabling them to connect and grow together.

We are happy to introduce you to our TRY 2020 Tzevet!

Amit Levin

Hi! My name is Amit, I was born and raised in Israel to parents born in Ireland and South Africa. Before my army service I studied in a pre-army academy in Peduel in the Shomron. I served in the IDF for 3 years and four months as a Tank Commander. My hobbies include cooking, traveling in Israel and abroad, music and also video games. I am looking forward to meeting you all and I can’t wait to start TRY 2021!

Adi Hoyzman

Hi! My name is Adi and I live in Modiin. When I was younger I spent 3 years living in New Jersey with my family. I grew up in the Bnei Akiva youth movement and I was also a madricha there. In my National Service I worked in a youth village with teens who came to Israel from all over the world. I am looking forward to meeting you all and having a great semester!

Rebecca Weiss

Hi! My name is Rebecca, and I’m originally from Toronto, Canada. I came to Israel after high school and participated in a pre-army program, made aliyah, and served in the IDF as a basic training commander. I was a camper at Ramah Canada, and a madricha at Ramah California, but the best experience was when I was on TRY 2015! I like to travel all over Israel, play the saxophone, and hang out with friends. I am SO excited for TRY 2021!

Edden Silverstein

Hi! My name is Edden and I’m so excited to meet everyone! I was born and raised in Orange County, California and spent all of my summers growing up at Camp Ramah in California, including two years on staff. I moved to Israel three years ago where I participated in a pre-army leadership training program, and then served as a basic training commander in the IDF. I’m an alumni of TRY 2015 and can’t wait to be a part of TRY 2021!
